Bet Types

Once you've selected your track and race, you must select a Bet Type and determine how much you wish to wager.

There are several different Bet Types, which vary according to how runners are selected. The table below explains the most common wagers.

 

Bet Type Description
WIN Your horse must finish first to collect on your bet.
PLACE Your horse must finish first or second to collect on your bet.
SHOW Your horse must finish first, second or third to collect on your bet.
EXACTA You select two horses. Your two horses must finish first and second in the exact order you have selected.
TRIFECTA You select three horses. Your three horses must finish first, second and third in the exact order you have selected.
DAILY DOUBLE You select two horses - one from each pre-determined race listed as part of a Daily Double. Each horse must finish first in his/her respective race.
PICK "#" Similar to a Daily Double, you select a horse from the race listing the Pick # and one from each of the following races. All horses in the selected races must finish first. (Typically Pick 3, 4 & 6.)
SUPERFECTA You select four horses. Your four horses must finish first, second, third and fourth in the order you have chosen for the race you've selected.
SUPER HI-5 You select five horses. Your five horses must finish first, second, third, fourth and fifth in the exact order you have chosen for the race you've selected.
GRAND SLAM You select a horse to finish in the top three in three straight races, capped by the winner of the fourth leg in the sequence. Please take note that if there is no show wagering in one of the first three legs, the horse must finish second.
